St Andrews Angling Club
St Andrews Angling Club is based at Cameron Reservoir, situated
4 miles south of the town, on the A915 St Andrews to Leven road. The location of the reservoir is
NO 47868 11415.
The Club was established in 1898.
is designated as a Special Protection Area (SPA), is leased from Scottish Water offers fly-only fishing from
both bank and boat. Throughout the season the reservoir is regularly stocked with Brown and Rainbow trout from 1
- 2 lbs although specimens of 6-8lbs are not un common.

Cameron Reservoir is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Access to the banks of the
reservoir is for anglers only, although there is a footpath for visitors, set 20-30m back from
the banks, that runs around the entire reservoir. This footpath is fairly accessible but
in some areas it can become very overgrown or be wet underfoot at certain times of the year. There is
a viewing point on the south bank of the reservoir where you can expect to see lots of birdlife
including many varieties of waterfowl, mute swans, herons, gulls, oystercatchers, buzzards, owls and
ospreys. Common animals around the banks of Cameron reservoir include badger, Otter, rabbits, foxes and
There is a small car park
at the reservoir which is free to visitors, although visitors are politely requested to keep the entrace to 'Cameron
House' free and ensure spaces are available for anglers at all times. Visitors are asked to
keep to the signposted CORE PATHS and take all litter home. Dogs must be kept on
